1. Does the Village have EV Charging Stations?

Yes - the Village has two Chargepoint electric vehicle charging stations available for public use. They are located at the corner of Burlington and Grand Avenues, just across the street from Starbucks. 

2. How do I make a claim against the electric company (ComED) for damages incurred during a power outage?

Please fill out the ComED Claim Form as soon as possible and return to ComEd, following the directions on the form.

3. What newspapers serve the Western Springs area?

There are multiple online and print news resources that serve the Western Springs area. My Suburban Life offers online and print subscriptions. The Doings Western Springs covers suburban news for the Chicago Tribune. The Western Springs Journal is delivered to households bi-weekly. The Patch is an online news source that reports local items of interest. The two regional papers are the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times. 

4. What public transportation provides service to downtown Chicago?

The Burlington Northern Sante Fe (BNSF) railway provides 25 minute express and 36 minute local service to Chicago’s Loop. Learn more and view schedules at: https://metrarail.com/.

5. What local hospitals serve the Western Springs area?

Amita Health Adventist Medical Center has hospital facilities in the communities of La Grange and Hinsdale, respectively. Loyola University Medical Center is in nearby Maywood, with local health centers in Burr Ridge and La Grange.

6. Who are the elected officials that represent me?

The Village Board of Trustees are your municipal elected officials. You can meet them here.

7. What schools serve the residents of Western Springs?

Public Elementary—District 101 includes three elementary schools: Field Park, Forest Hills, and Laidlaw, and one junior high school, McClure. These schools are within the Village and serve Village residents. District 106, LaGrange Highlands, is a combined elementary and junior high campus, LaGrange Highlands School, lies immediately adjacent to the community and serves some of the Village residents. Public High School—District 204, Lyons Township High School District, has two campuses. South Campus is located in the Village and serves the freshman and sophomore classes. North Campus serves the juniors and seniors and is located in nearby LaGrange. 

Private—St. John of the Cross Roman Catholic  is the only private school located within the community. It serves students from the Village and surrounding areas.

9. Is there a Newcomers Club?

The Newcomers Club is open to all residents interested in becoming acquainted with both their community and fellow villagers. You need not be "new" to Western Springs to join. Newcomers basic purpose is to provide social activities that will help members get-to-know their neighbors, wherever they may live in town. Activities are planned from September to June.
