The removal of the column pipe from Well #3 has been completed. The well pipe will now be relocated off site to under go inspection and rehabilitation/replacement as needed. The well pump will also undergo reconditioning as part of this process.
Well #3 will continue to be offline for another 4-6 weeks while this rehabilitation is ongoing and the Village will be supplementing water from well #1 to distribution during this time. Due to the increased hardness and total dissolved solids from well #1 residents may continue to notice the changed water quality while well #3 is offline.
Significant amounts of iron deposits were found on the well #3 column pipe. Damage was also found to one of the bowls located on the well pump which may have been a partial cause of the decreased output experienced over the past several months. Reconditioning of the pipe will continue for the next several weeks after which installation of the new pipe will take place.
Access to the parking lot near Community Development is expected to be restored next week (10/11/15) until crews need to be back on site to reinstall the column pipe. Updates regarding future access to the parking lot and possible closures will be posted on the Village website.
