[ARCHIVED] Public Works Clearing Inlets in Preparation for February 20th Rain

Public Works crews will be out in town today clearing inlets and catch basins that are currently blocked with ice and snow. February 20th has a forecast for a potentially significant amount of rain and there may be periods of localized ponding on the streets due to the snow currently on the ground.

Crews will be prioritize their cleaning based on known low areas or "trouble" locations in town and they will then expand their efforts from there. Unfortunately, crews may not be able to clear every inlet in town prior to the event. Residents are asked, if they are able to please assist the Public Works Department and clear any inlets they are aware of in front of their homes.

If you have an inlet that is covered with ice that you are unable to clear and your street has a history of standing water problems, please contact the Public Works Department at 708-246-1800 x 200.
