Forest Hills Sidewalk - Feasibility Study
The Village Board approved a feasibility study in Fall 2020 with V3 Engineering in the amount of $16,600 to assess sidewalk for the Forest Hills subdivision. The final draft of the report was presented to the Village Board for review on March 8, 2021.
The study summarizes the existing sidewalk within the subdivision along with an evaluation for sidewalk on each block. The study provides for an estimate of probable costs for the completion of sidewalk on all streets within the subdivision as well as an alternative to complete sidewalks on at least one side of the street in each area.
The feasibility study also provides an overview of potential conflicts and impacts for ADA improvements, parkway trees, driveways, and other utilities.
The current feasibility study does not include a detailed breakdown or analysis of the specific improvements, layout or impacts on a per block or per property basis. Additional information for funding sources and annual budgets would also be required from the Village to further develop specific project areas or project timelines. A Phase I and/or Phase II Engineering report would be required and develop estimates for specific improvements and cost impacts, including sidewalk layout and design.
The Village Board is currently reviewing the Village's long term capital improvement needs in a variety of areas, including water, sewer, roadway, capital facilities and other areas. A public forum to discuss the sidewalk feasibility report will be scheduled for later this spring. In the mean time questions pertaining to this report or sidewalk in general can be directed to Matthew Supert, Director of Municipal Services at firstname.lastname@example.org
