Treatment for Emerald Ash Borer on parkway trees is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 24th. The application process will be conducted by and consists of an injection of the pesticide into the base of the tree with a product known as Tree-Age.
If residents intend to treat their own parkway trees, the Village asks that it be notified so it can keep a record of treated trees. Any tree treated by the Village or a private resident does not guarantee the tree will not be removed by the Public Works Department. Any parkway tree that is deemed a public safety hazard or a vector for the further spread of the EAB may be identified for removal by the Village Forester.
