Removal and replacement of sidewalk squares in the Village begins today and will continue for approximately 10 days. Globe Construction is the contractor that will be removing sidewalk squares and be replacing them. Sidewalk squares identified for replacement must be a trip hazard of 1 1/4" or greater. Any trip hazard less than 1 1/4" would be addressed by the Village's sidewalk shaving program in early spring.
Residents may be out of their driveways for a few hours during the removal process, but all sidewalk squares in driveways will be back filled with stone overnight. Once concrete is poured residents may need to park on street for approximately one week until the concrete through the driveway is fully cured.
No additional sidewalk replacement requests can be added to this year's schedule. If you have a sidewalk square you would like the Village to inspect for 2014 please call the Public Works Department at 708-246-1800 x 200.
