The Ridgewood Oaks subdivision is a small collection of condominiums located near the 5800 block of Wolf Road on the southern edge of Western Springs. The property borders the eastern edge of the Ridgewood subdivision, but is a separate entity. After a severe storm event in 2015 the Village Board authorized two studies in the Ridgewood subdivision to analyze storm water impacts in the area. The Ridgewood Infrastructure Report was completed by Baxter & Woodman and was followed up by the separate Ridgewood Drainage Study in 2016. During the course of those studies, it was discovered that the detention basin located on the southwest corner of the Ridgewood Oaks subdivision was not in compliance with its MWRD permit. Village staff reached out to the Home Owner’s Association (HOA) in late 2016 with the Ridgewood Oaks Homeowner’s Association to re-establish the detention basin to its original 1975 permit requirements.
