Bicyclists riding on the streets of Western Springs must obey motor traffic regulations. These include stopping at stop signs and yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks. Bicyclists may not ride on the sidewalks within the business district. Violators may receive a ticket and/or fine.

The Western Springs Police Department encourages the registration of all bicycles. The lifetime registration fee of just $1 can help police to quickly identify an injured bicyclist or a lost child; expedite the recovery of a stolen bicycle; and ensure the prompt return of a recovered bicycle to its appropriate owner.
