Message From The Chief
Western Springs Department of Law Enforcement Services
From the Desk of the Chief of Police
police chief
On behalf of the men and women of the Western Springs Department of Law Enforcement Services, I welcome you to our  website. I am Chief Pamela Church and I have the distinct honor of serving as the Director of Law Enforcement Services for the Village of Western Springs. Our website is just one of the many ways that we demonstrate our sense of professionalism and commitment to the residents we serve.

The Western Springs Department of Law Enforcement Services has 20 sworn officers, 9 civilian employees, as well as a unit of Auxiliary officers who strive to provide professional, high quality and effective police services in partnership with the community. On December 4, 2004, the department became accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). The department is in the process of preparing for our fourth re-accreditation during the summer of 2016. In order to achieve this status, the department’s policies and procedures must be in compliance with the national standards that have been established by CALEA. This designation signifies our ongoing commitment to professional excellence in the field of law enforcement.

Our department is very proud of the impact that we have in assuring the high quality of life that our residents and business owners enjoy. We accomplish this by providing excellent public education programs as well as specialized law enforcement services that help us to ensure a low crime rate that the community is accustomed to.

Our agency participates in several multi-jurisdictional task forces which include the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children), MCAT (Major Case Assistance Team), NIPAS (Northern Illinois Police Alarm System), and the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS). Participation in these task forces allows us the ability to enhance our service capabilities by providing additional resources and expertise that are needed during critical incidents.

I invite you to take some time to learn more about our department through this website. As a department, we continuously strive to improve our level of service to the community. We welcome your input through the Service Evaluation form. We appreciate your support.

Sincerely,
Chief Pamela K. Church
Director of Law Enforcement Services
