The Western Springs MRC is a group of willing and trained volunteers ready and available to assist the village in the event of an emergency. Although it is called a "Medical Reserve Corps," you need not be in the medical field to participate. In fact, all volunteers bring their own unique skills and knowledge with them from varied backgrounds and it is this variety that is vital to the success of the unit.
The mission of the Western Springs MRC is to provide medical, logistical, and administrative assistance to the Village of Western Springs as part of the emergency management team to focus on strengthening our community resiliency.
The MRC meets monthly on select Wednesdays. Meeting dates and times will be posted to the Village's Meeting & Events Calendar. If you are interested in joining the MRC or simply want to learn more about the organization, please contact Tim Conley, MRC Director, tconley@wsprings.com or (708) 246-1800 x178.

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) will join with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for the first National Severe Weather Preparedness Week April 22-28. Throughout the week, federal, state and local agencies across the nation will encourage people to know their severe weather risks, take action to be prepared and set an example for others.
