ComED will be on-site in the month of September to relocate the utility poles at the northwest corner of Johnson and 45th and Johnson and 46th, The existing utility poles are in conflict with drainage structures planned for the new intersection.
Nicor Service Re-locations
The Village submitted the plans and specifications for the 2018 Roadway Program to Nicor in the winter of 2018 for review. Nicor, upon the Village's request, measured the depth of each gas service that crosses Johnson Avenue. It was determined that the majority of gas services feeding the west homes on Johnson Avenue were too shallow. This means that the existing gas services would be in conflict with the base of the new roadway. Nicor has informed the Village that they will be lowering the gas services that feed the west homes, starting next week. Please expect Nicor crews to be on-site, beginning at 47th Street and heading north, next week. The Nicor crews will inform you if there will be any temporary loss of gas service or driveway access. The work consists of a crew setting up on the east side of Johnson, where the existing 2" gas main is, and directionlly boring the new gas service under the street to connect to the existing gas line. Pavement removals on the east lane of Johnson Avenue are still scheduled to start in mid-late September.
