2018 Roadway Program - East Lawn Avenue Pavement Removal Start Date

The contractor is scheduled to begin pavement removals on the east side of Lawn Avenue on Monday, August 27, 2018, weather permitting. A confirmation of the start date will be sent out at the end of this week as weather or construction delays could result in a date change. The contractor will be starting at Lawn and Elm and continue moving north. Once construction begins, Lawn Avenue will temporarily become a one-way street, southbound during and outside of construction hours.

Residential Impacts

Residents who reside on the east side of Lawn Avenue should have their vehicles out of their driveway by 7:30AM on Monday morning. Driveways will be inaccessible until the east lane has been completely removed and replaced. Vehicles can be parked on Elm St. or on Lawn Avenue, south of the Elm St. The Police Department has been notified and overnight parking will be available until your driveways are accessible. Residents on the west side of Lawn Avenue will have access to their driveway during this phase of the project. Please be aware that heavy vehicles and construction personnel will on-site during construction hours. You may be delayed when entering or exiting the west driveways until equipment can be moved. On street parking will be unavailable on Lawn Avenue (Burlington-Elm) until the project is complete.

Business Impacts

On street parking will be unavailable on Lawn Avenue (Burlington-Elm) until the project is complete. The contractor is scheduled to open the east and west alley temporary delivery truck routes on Monday as well. Your delivery trucks will have access to the alleys, from Lawn, on Monday, but please plan for them to utilize the alternate routes beginning on Tuesday. Sidewalk access will remain available during the pavement removal portion of the project. Some concrete sidewalk may be removed but it will be replaced with temporary access.
