The contractor is continuing to move north on Johnson Avenue while completing the underground sewer work. They are working at the intersection of 45th Street and Johnson Avenue this afternoon and Monday before moving onto the 4400 block.
The contractor is tentatively scheduled to move to Lawn Avenue mid-late next week, weather permitting. The work on Lawn Avenue includes the installation of relief storm sewer near Elm Street and some spot combined sewer repairs near Burlington Avenue. The contractor will attempt to keep at least one lane of traffic open near the work being completed. Residents will maintain access to their driveways unless the contractor is working directly outside your home. They will inform you of loss of access prior to the loss of access. Please be very cautious when entering and leaving your driveway as there will be construction vehicles and personnel in the area. Workers in the area will help you if you flag them down ahead of time. Businesses should not expect to lose access to the east and west alleys.
There is no scheduled water shut-offs for this portion of the project. Keep in mind that there is always the possibility of a water service or water main being hit when excavation is taking place. If this occurs, the contractor will repair the service or main immediately but residents or businesses may suffer a loss of service for a short duration.
