Have you wondered what the Pickleball craze is all about?  It's one of the fastest growing sports in the USA!  Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. The Recreation Dept. offers pickleball clinics for beginners through advanced, indoor or outdoor in Summer, indoors for fall and winter,  drop-in pickleball at the Rec Center where you pay as you go for fall and winter, and a pickleball tournament in the Fall.  The Park District offers outdoor pickleball courts at Northeast Park, 114 W. 39th Street, Western Springs (near Odgen and Willow Springs Road). 4 courts available indoors and 4 outdoors.
