Programs & Registration***ONLINE REGISTRATION ***

As of May 31, 2018, the Recreation Department (and the Village of Western Springs) will be complying with a new required security upgrade to ensure our customers' data is not at risk during an online registration payment.

For most of our users, this change will go unnoticed. Some residents, however, may need to upgrade or patch their operating system in order to register and pay for Recreation programs online.  For more details and a list of operating systems that may or may not be supported by this new protocol, please contact the Village of Western Springs at 708-246-1800.

As always, in addition to online transactions, residents are invited to submit program registrations and payments by cash or check in person or by mail.

The Recreation Department offers activities and classes for all age groups. Residents and nonresidents are encouraged to become active in all programs. The seasonal program brochure is mailed out to all residents in March, August, and November. You may register online or print a registration form and register in person, through the mail or by fax (708-246-1309).  Other program information, including registration forms, is available through the links on the left.

Gym schedules are now located online through our registration website, and are generated in real time directly from the database.  Use the pull-down menu to see the Rec Gym North schedule.

Programs for the disabled are made available through a joint agreement with South East Association for Special Parks and Recreation (SEASPAR).

The department's largest annual (Saturday of Memorial Day weekend) event is the 5K-10K Tower Trot, which attracts more than 1,200 runners annually and is seen as one of the premier events of its kind in the Chicago area.

The Recreation Department does not own or operate the Village parks. The parks are owned and maintained by the Western Springs Park District, which is a separate taxing authority. The 11 parks in the Village host an assortment of recreational activities sponsored by the Recreation Department. For park permit requests or more information on the Park District, please call 708-246-4225 or visit the Western Springs Park District website.
