Beginning January 1, 2012, all electronics have been banned from Illinois landfills. The Village of Western Springs does not offer any electronic waste recycling service. Residents can dispose of electronic waste by using collection sites at retail stores or
local municipalities.
WATER PLANT REHABILITATION PROJECT The rehabilitation of the water plant located at 614 Hillgrove Avenue into a reverse osmosis (RO) plant has begun. Construction will take approximately one year and, during that time, the water chemistry will be monitored to ensure that the water quality meets or exceeds USEPA and IEPA regulations.
